Bibliotekmøtet is an important meeting place where we meet many of our library customers. This year, the Minister of Culture and Equality, Lubna Jaffery, also visited our stand. She was very impressed with what we have achieved with our streaming services, Filmoteket and Filmrommet.
Bibliotekmøtet is organized every other year and is the largest library conference in Norway. This time it was held April 17-19 in Haugesund.
- Our library customers are from all over the country and they are affiliated with Filmoteket to give their patrons a fantastic digital movie offer in their living room. Many of them also use Filmrommet to organize film screenings in their libraries. During the conference days, we get a unique opportunity to get to know each other better, exchange experiences and receive valuable wishes and input that is taken into the organization for continuous improvements. We will also have time to meet partners and attend relevant lectures for increased industry knowledge, insight and inspiration," says Anders Koppang-Grønn, CEO of Norgesfilm.
It was extra special to receive a visit from the Minister of Culture and Equality herself, Lubna Jaffery! She practically danced up Norgesfilm's red carpet, expressed great joy and enthusiasm for our digital film offering and happily posed for a photo with some of the editors of our streaming services.
We also had a chat with former Minister of Culture, Trine Skei Grande, who recently started as CEO of Forleggerforeningen. Skei Grande has followed Filmoteket from the very beginning. As part of anchoring Filmoteket in the library industry, we had a meeting with the then Minister at her office in Grubbegata before the launch of the service in 2020. Here we presented our plans to great enthusiasm from her. It was therefore a pleasant reunion and 'thank you for last time' in Haugesund.
