On the occasion of the Great School Cinema Day on February 13, Norgesfilm AS and the Norwegian Film Institute (NFI) have launched a new school cinema service, Filmrommet skolekino. The service contains educational programs for selected cinema films and is free for schools to use.
Through the Filmrommet school cinema, students and teachers get free access to varied teaching programs based on films such as Ibelin , Guardians of the Tundra and Konvoi . It will gradually be filled with more teaching programs for films that are suitable for students and teachers from primary school up to upper secondary school.
We at Norgesfilm are proud to be able to present a modern dissemination service for cinema films. In addition to linking the films to central values in the overall curriculum, we want to highlight the value of film as an artistic expression. The hope is also that the service will contribute to more children and young people having good cinema experiences, says Anders Koppang-Grønn, CEO of Norgesfilm AS.

The new school cinema service is run in close editorial collaboration between Norgesfilm and NFI, and it is Norgesfilm that has the overall editorial responsibility. A committee has also been set up with representatives from the cinema industry to assist editorially in the selection of films. The background for the service is NFI's overall strategy of focusing on children and young people.
