On August 19, Norgesfilm – in close collaboration with the Norwegian Film Festival in Haugesund – held a very successful conference for teachers under the title School cinema day.
Lhonorees at Norgesfilm's presentation.
At the Festiviteten cultural center in Haugesund, Norgesfilm presented to approximately 100 teachers from Haugalandet how we contribute to schools across the country increasingly using film in their teaching. In the first part, we focused on practical use of the streaming service The film room, and how teachers can easily choose from the catalog's 3,000 films, all of which are rights-cleared for streaming in the classroom.
Then we demonstrated the new and free mediation service Film room
Just the movie Stargate was then introduced by producer Hege Hauff Hvattum in the cinema before the lights were turned off and the teachers were given an exclusive screening, two months before the premiere.

Festival director Tonje Hardersen was very pleased with the event:
We are very happy about the Film Festival's collaboration with Norgesfilm. We are strengthening our focus on film dissemination for children and young people, and it is great to be able to collaborate with an actor who has solid experience and expertise in streaming services and digital film dissemination in schools. With exciting presentations, good questions from the teachers and the subsequent cinema screening of “Stargate – a Christmas Story”, this was very successful.
Norgesfilm's editorial team's Helene Retzius confirms the success:
It's great that so many teachers want to spend their free time with us to learn more about the use of film in schools and be inspired to use film as a pedagogical tool in their teaching..
