Saga 3.0 + Viddla = True film joy for the borrowers!
Thanks to collaboration with OLS, all libraries with Saga can now offer streaming films in a new and smart way. Without extra development, borrowers get access to their favorite films directly in the library catalogue. In the same simple way as for e-books.
The demand for streaming films has increased explosively in recent years, and the library has an important role to play here. Until now, lending has taken place through a connection to an external website, viddla.se, but many libraries request the possibility to borrow streaming films directly from the library catalogue.
With Viddla för Saga 3.0 this becomes possible. At no extra cost, the film library is integrated into the existing system and becomes a natural part of the total offering.
This means many advantages for both borrowers and employees, such as:
Records are imported into the library system and found via standard search
New titles are automatically updated in the catalogue, including description, keywords and trailers
The library's editors can create lists and write tips via Saga admin
Films and trailers are played directly from the catalog post
Film loans can be seen on My pages with information about when the loan expires
Thanks to a jointly developed API, Viddla för Saga 3.0 means neither development time nor start-up costs, and the library only pays for each loan.
"It's great to be able to offer our Saga users an even better movie experience via the integration with Viddla," says Lars Ericsson, CEO of Open Library Solutions, which is behind the Saga system. "With Saga and Viddla, it's really easy to borrow films."
