Saga 3.0 + Viddla = True movie enjoyment for patrons!
Thanks to a partnership with OLS, all Saga libraries can now offer streaming movies in a new and smart way. Without extra development, patrons can access their favorite films directly in the library catalog. In the same simple way as for e-books.
Demand for streaming movies has exploded in recent years, and libraries have an important role to play here. So far, lending has taken place through a link to an external website, viddla.se, but many libraries are requesting the opportunity to borrow streaming films directly from the library catalog.
Viddla for Saga 3.0 makes this possible. At no extra cost, the film library is integrated into the existing system and becomes a natural part of the overall offering.
This has many advantages for both borrowers and employees, such as
Entries are imported into the library system and found via regular search
New titles are automatically updated in the catalog, including description, keywords and trailers
Library editors can create lists and write tips via Saga admin
Movies and trailers played directly from the catalog item
Film loans are visible on My Pages with info about when the loan expires
Thanks to a jointly developed API, Viddla for Saga 3.0 involves no development time or start-up costs and the library only pays for each loan.
"It's great to be able to offer our Saga users an even better movie experience through the integration with Viddla," says Lars Ericsson, CEO of Open Library Solutions, the company behind the Saga system. "With Saga and Viddla, it's really easy to borrow movies."
